The dualistic nature of smenita

Yesterday was an exhilirating day full of personal discovery, interconnectivity and polysemic neologisms. Eff of A Place for Robots mentions in his comments on this post that repeated exposure to smenita increased his capacity to cope. But for others like anaglyph, it was necessary to find greener, smenita-free, pastures. Others like Dasan of Learning to Fly have gained a new appreciation for smenita. As has Steve (who just happens to be my esteemed father!).

What about you? How would you describe the metaphysical, philosophical, etic, or theological nature of smenita? Is the power of smenita innate? Or do we give it power over our lives? By the way did you notice that I said "it" and not "her"? Many see smenita as intrinsically feminine? Do you agree? Or again is there a balanced duality of masculine and feminine?
